How would you like to walk through 40 years of Calgary history and earn the chance at winning a 40-hour prize package?
To celebrate 40 years of being a force for economic development, innovation, social networking and educational activities, Calgary TELUS Convention Centre (CTCC) is proud to present its 40 Hours of Fun, Food & Culture contest.
Running from Wednesday August 6th to Sunday September 14th, 2014 (amended July 23, 2014 from original dates of Wednesday, July 30 – Wednesday, September 17) the contest will show you the city’s ghosts, as well as wild, random and wonderful moments from its history. So here’s what you need to know.
The winner and a friend/loved one will get to spend a fabulous 40 hours in downtown Calgary, courtesy of Calgary TELUS Convention Centre and their partners.
A smartphone, our 40 Year Stroll card, a quick-click camera finger and quicker wit. The 40 Year Stroll card is available from the Calgary TELUS Convention Centre, Tourism Calgary’s Tower Visitor Centre, Calgary Downtown Association information booths and city hotels, as well as by download.
Each day during the contest we’ll broadcast clues. Follow us daily on Twitter to keep in the loop. Simply match up the humorous, historical, obtuse or poignant clue to one of the events and locations on the 40 Year Stroll, head over to the location and take a selfie showing you there. Then you should submit the image to Twitter with the hashtag #CTCC40YEARS or by email.
Everyone who sends a selfie with the right daily location will be eligible to win. All the correct selections from all the days of contest will be entered into the draw, with a single winner finally chosen at random. The winner will be announced September 17, 2014 through Twitter and ctcc40years.com.
You can enter every day of the contest, and so you have up to 40 chances to become part of the final draw.
By submitting the photo to the contest, you agree that we can post it to our Twitter feed, and the CTCC website. Entrants must be 18 years or older. Any photo deemed offensive or inappropriate will be barred from the contest. The 40 Days Contest is free to enter. No personal information will be collected for our database.
